Report Title: Add 1 PFT Environmental Services Supervisor Position and Cancel 1 P.I. Food Services Worker-Generalist (40 hours) in Contra Costa Health

RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26199 to add one PFT Environmental Services Supervisor (1WHB) position at salary plan and grade ZA5-1136 ($4,983 - $6,057) and cancel one Permanent Intermittent Food Services Worker - Generalist (Position No. 14470, 40 hours) (1KVG) position at salary plan and grade TB5-1002 ($3,948 - $4,798) in Contra Costa Health. (Represented)

FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost increase of $24,262 with $5,692 in pension costs included. This increase will be 100% funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Dept 0540 / Org 6501)

BACKGROUND:
The Food and Nutrition Services program requests to add one permanent full time Environmental Services Supervisor (1WHB) position. There is currently only one filled Environmental Services Supervisor position that is specifically assigned to work the PM shift and to be equitable, the unit has an emergent need to add this position to cover the AM shift to supervise the Food Service Worker employees. In addition, management must focus on higher-level responsibilities and priorities of the program instead of providing direct supervision to the AM employees. Adding this position will ensure cohesive workflow, routine processes development/review, log review, logistics, and handling emergencies in a timely manner.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this position does not get approved, it will be an inequitable working condition and supervision will not be given on a consistent basis to the AM shift employees.
