Referral History:
Members of County Advisory Bodies, such as Sustainability Commission members, must comply with county and state policies. These policies require members to complete four (4) trainings.
Due within three (3) months of appointment and every two (2) years thereafter:
• Contra Costa County Brown Act Training
• Implicit Bias Training
• CA Local Agency Ethics (AB1234)
Due within six (6) months of appointment and every two (2) years thereafter:
• Fiscal and Financial Training (CA SB827)
Historically, members of County Advisory Bodies submitted a training certification form directly to advisory body staff certifying completion of all required trainings.
Referral Update:
Recently, advisory body training courses and compliance tracking moved to the County’s training software platform, Vector Solutions. The platform will be utilized in lieu of the training certification forms used previously. The move to Vector Solutions is intended to simplify the training process for both staff and advisory body appointees by allowing staff to more easily track the training status of members and by providing all required training courses to appointees in one location.
County staff will provide a verbal report on the advisory body training instructions for Commission members to complete all required training using the County’s training software platform, Vector Solutions.
Recommendation(s)/Next Step(s):
RECEIVE Report on Advisory Body Training Requirements.
Fiscal Impact (if any):
None.
