Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County a participating addendum with W.W. Grainger, Inc., and issue a blanket purchase order for purchases of parts, equipment, and materials by County departments under a cooperative purchasing contract available through the Omnia Partners cooperative purchasing program, for an amount not to exceed $750,000 during the period from June 4, 2024, through December 31, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% User Departments.

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa Purchasing Services is requesting a new purchase order to issue to W.W. Grainger, Inc., to purchase Maintenance, Repair and Operating Supplies under the OMNIA Cooperative Agreement with guaranteed pricing, tiered rebate incentives, discounts on thousands of products and no minimum purchase requirements.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without approval of a new purchase order, County Departments will pay full price on the products they order, with no incentives or rebates back to the County’s General Fund.
