RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a revenue agreement with Mount Diablo Unified School District in an amount not to exceed $31,868 for the provision of food services to the Crossroads High School childcare program for the term January 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Other (Mount Diablo Unified School District Funds), $10,623 for FY 25-26 and $21,245 for FY 26-27.
BACKGROUND:
This staff report seeks to approve a revenue agreement with the Mount Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) for the allocation of $31,868.00 to provide food services to the MDUSD Crossroads High School childcare program for the term of January 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
To enhance the partnership in childcare services with MDUSD and to support food and nutrition goals within these programs, the County provides daily meals at selected childcare sites to children who are program-eligible and co-enrolled in Early Head Start as well as the Contractor's education programs.
On June 24, 2025, the Board of Supervisors approved item C.50, which authorized the execution of a revenue agreement with MDUSD to accept funds in the amount of $12,650.40 for a term of July 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025. This agreement includes mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance under this agreement.
MDUSD agrees to reimburse the County up to the limits of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), for all food service expenses related to the agreement. The program may provide meals at the rate of $2.10 per breakfast and $4.10 per lunch.
