RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute contract amendments with the Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay dba YMCA of the East Bay to increase the payment limit by $354,052 to a new total payment limit not to exceed $4,058,770 to provide Head Start and Early Head Start Delegate services from July 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024, and from August 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024, subject to approval by the County Administrator and approval as to form by County Counsel.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$354,052: 100% Federal; all of which is budgeted for FY 23-24. There is no County match requirement.
BACKGROUND:
On June 25, 2024, the Board approved item C.91 authorizing an amendment with the Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay (YMCA) to increase the payment limit by $1,282,782, to a new payment limit not to exceed $3,704,718, to provide delegate Head Start services for an additional 6-months, from December 31, 2023, to June 30, 2024; and rescinded item C.27 authorizing an amendment with YMCA of the East Bay that extended the contract term 6-months, to June 30, 2024, with no change to the payment limit of the contract.
The amendment will extend the prior approved contract for a term of July 1, 2023, through August 31, 2024. The amended term shall include an increase of the total payment limit to $4,058,770.
