RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #24-681-84(23) with United Family Care, LLC (dba Family Courtyard), a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $730,000, to provide augmented board and care services for the period from December 1, 2023 through November 30, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract will result in annual contractual service expenditures of up to $730,000 and will be funded by 100% Mental Health Services Act Housing funds. (Rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Behavioral Health Services Division has been contracting with United Family Care, LLC (dba Family Courtyard), since December 1, 2007 to provide augmented board and care services for mentally ill adults in West Contra Costa County.
This contract meets the social needs of the county's population by augmenting room and board and providing twenty-four hour emergency residential care and supervision to eligible mentally disordered clients, who are specifically referred by the Mental Health Program Staff and who are served by county Mental Health Services. This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227; California Code of Regulations, Title 9, Section 523 et seq.; California Welfare and Institutions Code Section (5600 et. seq., known as The Bronzan-McCorquodale Act). This provider was selected in collaboration with community stakeholder advisory bodies and was approved as part of the comprehensive Mental Health Services Act Three-Year Plan as required by State regulation.
