RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Personnel Adjustment Resolution No. 26643 to reclassify one (1) Account Clerk-Advanced Level (JDTD) (represented) position No. 13238 and its incumbent at salary plan and grade 3RX 1133 ($5,195.30-$6,634.61) to an Accounting Technician (JD7A) (represented) position at salary plan and grade 3RX 1236 ($5,753.09-$7,346.94) in the Administrative Services Bureau – Personnel & Finance Division of the Office of the Sheriff.


FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this reclassification will increase the Sheriff’s annual salaries and benefits by $17,061 and will be 100% funded by the Department’s current General Fund appropriation.

BACKGROUND:

The Office of the Sheriff is requesting to reclassify one Account Clerk-Advanced Level position and its incumbent to an Accounting Technician position.

The Human Resources Department received a completed Position Description Questionnaire (PDQ) requesting the reclassification of position #13238 from Account Clerk-Advanced Level to Accounting Technician within the Sheriff’s Office. Human Resources conducted a formal classification study to evaluate the current operational demands of the role. This study included a detailed desk audit with the incumbent employee and subsequent discussions with the employee’s immediate supervisor.

The evaluation revealed that the duties currently assigned to this position and employee have significantly evolved.
