RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Interim Health Services Director, or designee (Director of Environmental Health, Assistant Director of Health Services, or Deputy Director of Health Services) to submit Application #28-511-51 (EA 36) and sign and execute any necessary documents associated with this Grant Application, to the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), to pay the County an amount ot to exceed $25,579 for the continuation of the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) assistance funds for Environmental Health's Solid Waste Program, for the period July 1, 2025 through October 30, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval to submit this Application may result in a payment to the County of $25,579 for Environmental Health's Solid Waste Program. No County match is required.

BACKGROUND:
CalRecycle provides these grants annually to assist Statewide LEA in performing their duties. Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 43230, if awarded, this grant will be used solely for the support of the solid waste facilities permit and inspection programs, including personnel, training, equipment, supplies, and technical support. County has been receiving funds from CalRecycle for the Solid Waste Program since January 1991.

On May 14, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved the Health Services Department to submit Application #28-511-49 for continuation of funding for the Solid Waste Program through October 31, 2025.
