To: Board of Supervisors
From: Monica Nino, County Administrator
Report Title: Outgoing Chair of the Board of Supervisors gift
Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Administrator, or designee, to purchase a gift for the outgoing Chair of the Board of Supervisors at the last Board meeting of the year, in an amount not to exceed $300, with funding provided from the Board of Supervisors’ general budget, as recommended by the County Administrator.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommended action will result in a one-time expenditure not exceeding $300. The cost will be absorbed within the existing Board of Supervisors’ general budget and does not require a new appropriation. The expenditure is fully funded by the County General Fund and will have a negligible impact on the current fiscal year budget.
BACKGROUND:
The Board of Supervisors annually selects one of its members to serve as Chair, a role that includes additional responsibilities for presiding over meetings, representing the Board at official functions, and facilitating the orderly conduct of County business. At the conclusion of the Chair’s term, it is customary for the Board to recognize the outgoing Chair’s service and leadership at the final Board meeting of the year.
The presentation of a modest commemorative gift is consistent with the Board’s longstanding practice of recognizing public service and is intended to acknowledge the time, effort, and dedication of the outgoing Chair.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Board does not approve the recommended action, the outgoing Chair will not receive formal recognition from the Board at the conclusion of their term, consistent with the Board’s established practice of recognizing the service and leadership of its Chair.
