RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a contract with the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired in the amount of $150 to rent its Pittsburg facility for use as a polling site for the March 5, 2024 Primary Election.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

$150 from the General Fund.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

The Elections Division of the Clerk-Recorder’s office will provide 147 polling places throughout the County for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election. Sites that will be utilized include the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired in the City of Pittsburg. The Facility Rental Application and Use Agreement for this site contains an indemnification and hold harmless provision, whereby the County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired for use of this site as a voting location. For election day voting, as well as set up and take down of voting equipment, the agreement provides the County with use of the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired on March 5, 2024. 

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

The Elections Office will not be able to use this site as a voting location.
