RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26212 to add one (1) full-time Secretary Journey Level (J3TF) (represented) position at salary plan and grade 3R2 1018 ($4,217.07 - $5,813.28); cancel one (1) Clerk Senior Level (JWXC) (represented) vacant position #15746 at salary plan and grade 3RX 1033 ($4,433.81 - $5,662.16) in the Risk Management Department.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action has an annual salary and benefit cost fiscal impact of approximately $2,741.

 

 

BACKGROUND:

The Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) unit had an unexpected retirement in September 2023, resulting in a vacant Clerk Senior Level position. Upon review of the department’s staffing needs, the unit requires a Secretary Journey Level position to address administrative and operational needs. The Secretary Journey Level position will provide administrative support to the EEO Officer and EEO program support such as contacting complainants, scheduling intake interviews, and preparing Advisory Council on EEO agendas. 

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the EEO unit will not have adequate staffing to address and support the needs of the department.
