RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #76-761-4 with Bureau Veritas North America, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $70,000, to provide chemotherapy surface contamination testing services for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) Chemotherapy Infusion Pharmacy, for the period November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in annual expenditures of up to $70,000 and will be funded as budgeted by the department, 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
The County has an obligation to provide certain specialized surface contamination testing support services for the CCRMC Chemotherapy Infusion Pharmacy. These test samples are sent to the Contractor to be tested for possible chemotherapy contamination on our pharmacy surfaces. This Contractor has been providing these contamination testing services for the County and fostering a deep understanding of the CCRMC organizations mission, values, and long-term objectives since November 1, 2021. This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. The California State Board of Pharmacy and US Pharmacopeia (USP) 787 and 800 laws requires testing of all surfaces that come into contact with hazardous drugs to ensure employee and patient safety. Health Services Personnel approved this Contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations.
