ADOPT a resolution recognizing Betty Geishirt Cantrell on her retirement and 13 years of service with SparkPoint Contra Costa, as recommended by Supervisor Carlson.

IN THE MATTER OF
Recognizing Betty Geishirt Cantrell upon on her retirement and 13 years of services with SparkPoint Contra Costa.
WHEREAS, Betty received her Master of Science in Social Administration from the University of Wisconsin and her Master of Business Administration from Memphis State University; and
WHEREAS, she has been the Development Director and Program Administrator at several nonprofits; and
WHEARS, Project Director for a research grant funded by the National Institute of Health; and
WHEREAS, Betty has previously worked for CANFIT, the Center for American Indian Research and Education, and the Center of Human Development; and
WHEREAS, she has also worked at Child and Family in Syracuse, NY directing their Sex Offender Treatment Program, Charter Lakeside Hospital in Memphis, TN as the Chief of Social Services, and at Education and Treatment Council in Lake Charles, LA as the Rape Crisis Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, Betty moved to Pleasant Hill, CA with her husband, daughter and son in 1995 and
joined the board of the Pleasant Hill Community Foundation in 2000; and
WHEREAS, Betty has served as the Director of SparkPoint Contra Costa since its opening in June 2011. SparkPoint has four locations across the county; and
