Report Title:                     Rev.com blanket purchase order

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Public Defender’s Office, a purchase order with Rev.com in the amount of $80,000 to provide online transcription services for the period April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval would allow the department to charge against an open purchase order in an amount of up to $80,000 when online transcription services are requested and performed by this vendor. Any expenditure against this purchase order will be fully funded by the department’s General Fund allocation.

BACKGROUND:

Rev.com provides online transcription services, which transcribes court, witness interrogation, and law enforcement videos for the Public Defender’s Office. The department has used Rev.com for many years and have found them to be efficient, accurate, and timely in their transcription services.

This purchase order incorporates Rev.com’s Master Services Agreement, which includes an indemnification provision from the County to Rev.com, as well as a limitation of liability on behalf of Rev.com.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The department’s attorneys and investigators will not have access to essential transcription services.
