Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Information Officer, or designee, to execute a contract with Microsoft Corporation in an amount not to exceed $323,000 to provide Microsoft Unified Support services for the period of December 12, 2024, through December 11, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost is budgeted in the Department’s FY 24/25 budget. 100% User Departments.

BACKGROUND:

The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) initiates the renewal of Microsoft Support each year. Microsoft Enterprise Services Contract, UCU020409-1002488-1002488, provides Unified Advanced Support which is essential for the ongoing operation of many of the County's desktop computers and servers. The County is party to a Microsoft Premier Support Services Agreement dated June 13, 2014, that is extended each year for continued support services. This purchase is being made via sole source justification for continuity of service.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

This support is a critical component to maintaining the County's workstations and servers. Without it, DoIT may be unable to resolve issues that arise during the course of normal County business.
