RECOMMENDATIONS:
RESCIND Board action of January 13, 2026 (C.58), which authorized and approved execution of contract #23-833-1 with Witt/Kieffer Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $500,000 for executive leadership recruitment services for the Health Services Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) Chief Operations Officer and the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) Chief Operations Officer, for the period January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact. The contract will not be executed, and no funds will be expended.
BACKGROUND:
On January 13, 2026, the Board of Supervisors approved and authorized Contract #23-833-1 with Witt/Kieffer, Inc. to provide executive leadership recruitment services for the Health Services Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) Chief Operations Officer and the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) Chief Operations Officer, for the period January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
The Department has since determined that these services will be provided by a different vendor and therefore recommends rescinding the prior Board action.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Board does not rescind the prior action, approval will remain on record, which could result in inaccurate accounting of contractual commitments. Rescinding the prior action ensures accurate financial records and frees up the funds for the new recruitment services contract.
