RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, individual purchase orders with: OneSource Distributors, LLC and Rexel USA, Inc. d/b/a Platt Electric Supply, in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000 for each purchase order, to supply electrical materials and components, for the period November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2030, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Facilities Maintenance Budget. (100% General Fund)
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department, Facilities Services Division, is responsible for maintaining all County buildings, including hospitals, clinics, detention centers, and congregate care facilities. Electrical repairs and improvements are included in this required maintenance.
Facilities Services Division uses several vendors for electrical materials and components. A formal solicitation process for electrical materials and supplies was recently conducted via Bidnet Direct, RFP # 0000000081, with due date June 2, 2025. After thorough review of the bids received, two vendors were selected, OneSource Distributors, LLC and Rexel USA, Inc. d/b/a Platt Electric Supply.
Facilities Services is requesting approval for five-year purchase orders with OneSource Distributors, LLC and Rexel USA, Inc. d/b/a Platt Electric Supply for the term November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2030, in the amount of $2,000,000 each.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If these purchase orders are not approved, procurement of electrical materials and components with OneSource Distributors, LLC and Rexel USA, Inc. d/b/a Platt Electric Supply will not begin, and access to electrical supplies for maintenance and emergency repairs will be limited.
