Report Title: First Amendment to Contract With Karpel Solutions for DA Case Management System Application

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Administrator, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Karpel Computer Systems, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $10,000 to a new payment limit of $1,289,850 to provide maintenance and support of the PBK Annual Interface Maintenance, an add-on service to the case management system for District Attorney prosecution services providing the Law Enforcement Agencies to transmit comprehensive digital filing packets directly into the District Attorney's case management system, for the period January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2030.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% General Fund. The additional annual cost will be funded through appropriations from the District Attorney operating budget. The total contract cost comprises annual application hosting, maintenance, and support services.
BACKGROUND:
On January 16, 2026, the Board authorized the County Administrator to execute a hosting, maintenance, and support agreement with Karpel Solutions for the District Attorney's case management system. This first amendment adds Karpel's PBK Annual Interface Maintenance service to the agreement. The PBK Annual Interface Maintenance interface enables Law Enforcement Agencies to transmit comprehensive digital filing packets, including person and arrest data alongside multimedia attachments, directly into the District Attorney's case management system to facilitate formal criminal review for both adult and juvenile cases.
To correct a clerical omission identified during the initial billing cycle, we are submitting this addendum to add the PBK Annual Interface Maintenance to the contract.
All other contract terms remain unchanged.
