RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, to execute a purchase order with AgileBits, Inc., d/b/a 1Password, in an amount not to exceed $27,000 to provide comprehensive password management for the period of January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of this product is included in the Department's FY 24-25 budget. 100% User Departments.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Information Technology's (DoIT's) Network and Endpoint Services (NES) team uses 1Password to securely manage and share credentials across the team, ensuring sensitive information is protected with robust encryption. This platform allows the team to centralize password storage, streamline access control, and maintain compliance with security best practices. The purchase of 1Passwod Business solution provides the key features listed below:
* Advanced Access Controls: Department administrators can define fine-grained permissions, ensuring employees have access only to necessary information.
* Automated Provisioning: Integration with services like Active Directory and Okta facilitates seamless onboarding and offboarding of employees.
* Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Supports additional security layers, including integration with Duo, to enhance account protection.
* Comprehensive Reporting: Provides detailed activity logs and usage reports to assist with auditing and compliance requirements.
