RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Interim Health Services Director, a purchase order with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,150,363 for the purchase of ARTIS Icono Floor Interventional Radiology (IR) imaging system and accessories for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC).

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action will result in a one-time expenditure of up to $1,150,363 and will be funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.

BACKGROUND:
Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. is a leading medical technology company. The company specializes in providing a wide range of healthcare solutions and services, including medical imaging systems, laboratory diagnostics, and healthcare information technology products.

The ARTIS icono floor is a compact, floor-mounted angiography system. It supports minimally invasive procedures across radiology, cardiology, and vascular surgery. It offers flexible patient coverage, high-quality imaging with low radiation, and customizable workflows (Case Flows). Advanced features include 3D imaging and support for complex procedures like EVAR and TAVI. Efficient, space-saving, and powerful, it's ideal for modern interventional suites.

The current interventional radiology (IR) equipment at CCRMC has reached its end-of-life and is no longer deemed safe or reliable for use in the provision of patient care. As a result, all interventional radiology services at CCRMC have been suspended.
