RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #26-784-14 with CardioNet, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide remote cardiac monitoring services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from November 1, 2023 through October 31, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in annual expenditures of up to $300,000 and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
Due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers relies on contracts to provide necessary specialty health services to its patients. CCRMC has been contracting with CardioNet, LLC, since November 2014, for their expertise in cardiac monitoring services. This contract was approved by Health Services Personnel to ensure there is no conflict with labor relations.
This contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. Contractor has been the vendor of choice for home heart-monitoring devices for CCRMC patients for the last decade. They provide the ability to capture arrhythmias in patients during their daily activities. This is crucial to fully understanding what is occurring in the patient's heart as many clinically severe arrhythmias only last a few seconds and do not occur unless the patient is ambulatory.
