Report Title: Crockett Community Foundation Grant Application and Contract for Roof Repair

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Acting as the governing Board of the Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District, RATIFY the Fire Chief's application of grant funding with the Crockett Community Foundation Grant, to receive funding in an amount up to $55,654 and APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee to execute a contract with Mackenzie Construction Services Inc. in the amount of $62,654 to replace the roof system on Fire Station 78.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this request will ratify the Fire Chief's grant application, to receive grant funding of up to $55,654, with a requirement match of at least 10%. The Fire District will contribute $7,000 as a match, for a total project cost of $62,654. A budget amendment will be processed in the future to adjust and right size the District's FY26-27 Budget.
BACKGROUND:
Crockett-Carquinez Fire Department is a volunteer/paid on-call fire department serving the communities of Crockett, Port Costa, Valona, and Tormey. The Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District relies on external funding and has the opportunity to receive grant funding from the Crockett Community Foundation. This grant funding will allow the District to complete a roof system repair for Fire Station 78, which serves as their main fire station in Crockett.
Fire Station 78 serves as the primary facility for training, housing up to eight firefighters, and conducting operational activities. It functions as the headquarters for the Fire District's training, meetings, and operations.
