BACKGROUND:
One agreement to settle pending litigation, as defined in Government Code section 54956.9, became final during the period June 1, 2024, through June 30, 2024.
Kenry Lee Young v. Brandon Battles, et al., United States District Court, Northern District of California, Case No. 3:21-cv-09375 WHO. On June 25, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved a settlement in this civil rights case arising out of an alleged use of excessive force in a County detention facility. The Board approved the settlement for $130,000 in closed session by a vote of 5-0. The settlement agreement was fully executed on June 25, 2024. The funding source is the Risk Management Liability Internal Service Fund.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The report would not be accepted.
