Report Title: Agreement #23-916 with San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District
Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Agreement #23-916 with San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District (SRVFPD), a government agency, to provide emergency ambulance services in the County’s Emergency Response Area IV (ERA IV) for the period October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2031.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. This is a non-financial Agreement.
BACKGROUND:
Under this Agreement SRVFPD provides emergency ambulance services as requested by any County-designated public safety dispatch center 24 hours a day. SRVFPD must staff and equip its ambulances to provide advanced life support care, including staffing each ambulance with at least one paramedic and one emergency medical technician. The agreement establishes response time standards that SRVFPD must meet when responding to emergency calls. It also establishes clinic, personnel, vehicle, communications equipment, and other standards that SRVFPD must meet.
Approval of Agreement #23-916 will allow SRVFPD to provide emergency ambulance services in County’s ERA IV through September 30, 2031. This Contract includes a mutual indemnification provision to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this Contract is not approved, County’s ERA IV will not receive SRVFPD’s emergency ambulance services.
