Report Title: Contract with City of Brentwood for Radio Communication Services

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Information Officer, or designee, to execute a contract with the City of Brentwood to reimburse the Department of Information Technology, at the rate of $148 per hour plus the cost of any materials and equipment, to provide radio communications programming and maintenance for the period of November 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The contract will generate revenue for the Telecommunications Division of the Department of Information Technology. (100% City of Brentwood)
BACKGROUND:
Department of Information Technology’s (DOIT) Telecommunications Division has provided the City of Brentwood with professional telecommunications and related services since 2013. Upon request, DOIT provides maintenance on the City police base station repeaters, its in-band repeater, police and City mobile and portable radios and any other City requested radio communications. Effective July 1, 2023, DOIT’s service rate is $148 per hour, plus the cost of any materials and required equipment. The contract includes mutual indemnification clauses.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the result will be reduced revenue for the Telecommunications Division.
