RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Librarian, or designee, to apply for a City of Walnut Creek Encroachment Permit for use of the Walnut Creek Library parking lot for a library event on June 11, 2025.

BACKGROUND:
The Library Lease and Service Agreement between the County and the City of Walnut Creek for operation of the Walnut Creek Library does not include use of the Library parking lot. As such, the City requires the County to apply for an Encroachment Permit in order to use the library parking lot to hold an Exploration Station family program on June 11, 2025 in the library’s surface parking lot. The lot will be cordoned off to allow cars to access the underground parking garage but will prevent cars from entering the surface lot. There will be tabling, trucks, and a mobile aquarium on site.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the application is not approved, the Library will be unable to hold the Exploration Station family program.
