RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-953 with John Patresan, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $1,300,000, to provide oncology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2028.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in annual budget expenditures of up to $1,300,000 over a two-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Due to limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers rely on Contractors to provide necessary specialty health services to their patients. This Contractor will be providing oncology services, including clinic coverage, consultation, training, medical and/or surgical procedures, and on-call coverage beginning August 1, 2026.
This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. This Contract was approved by Health Services Personnel to ensure there is no conflict with labor relations. CCRMC's Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the Contract are upheld. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3, CCRMC provides Physician services and are exempt from solicitation requirements.
Approval of this new Contract #76-953 will allow the Contractor to provide oncology services through July 31, 2028.
