RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Theis Engineering & Associates, effective April 28, 2026, to increase the payment limit by $250,000 to a new payment limit of $600,000, for on-call land development services, with no change to the term ending April 8, 2027, Countywide. (All Districts)
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Developer Fees and/or Special Districts Funds.
BACKGROUND:
On April 9, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved an on-call Consulting Services Agreement with Theis Engineering & Associates, in the amount of $350,000 to provide on-call land development services and provide special technical assistance for the Public Works Department. The original contract amount was based on the level of work available to the consultants at that time. With the staffing changes and assignments of County-wide and developer-funded projects, the additional funds provided through this amendment will support the completion of several land development projects and allow for the continued use of services provided by Theis Engineering & Associates.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without approval from the Board of Supervisors, the Public Works Department will be unable to complete County-wide and developer-funded projects in a timely manner, which will delay the completion of both current and future County-wide and developer-funded projects.
