RECOMMENDATIONS:
Acting as the governing board of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller, or designee, to pay CrossFit, LLC in an amount not to exceed $7,650.00 for a recruitment vendor booth at the 2026 CrossFit Games Finals for the period July 24, 2026 through July 26, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted. 100% CCCFPD General Operating Fund
BACKGROUND:
CCCFPD has established a robust Outreach and Recruitment program in an effort to attract a diverse pool of public safety ready candidates. By hosting a recruitment and outreach booth at the 2026 CrossFit Games Finals, CCCFPD intends to interact with athletes and spectators from across the county in an effort to educate them about a career in the fire service.
The Agreement between CCCFPD and CrossFit, LLC contains modified terms and conditions that include both limitation of liability and indemnification language.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
By not attending this event, CCCFPD will miss out on an important opportunity to conduct outreach and recruitment activities with talented athletes and spectators.
