RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, to execute a purchase order with Carahsoft Technology Corp. in an amount not to exceed $20,000, for Salesforce Unlimited Edition software to assist the Board of Supervisors in tracking and managing issues raised by constituents, subject to the terms of Salesforce Inc. Terms of Use, for the period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost for this is recovered through charges to user departments. 100% User Departments.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) intends to execute a purchase order with Carahsoft Technology Corp., a third-party reseller, to renew the Salesforce Unlimited Edition software. This edition offers advanced features designed for large businesses, including:
1. Customization: Tailor Salesforce with custom fields, objects, and workflows.
2. Premium Support: Get 24/7 support, quicker response times, and a dedicated support manager.
3. More Storage: Increased storage limits for data and files.
4. Advance Analytics: Powerful tools for detailed reporting and data analysis.
5. Extra Apps and Integrations: Access to additional apps and integrations via Salesforce's marketplace.
6. Customer Communities: Build branded communities for employees, customers, and partners.
7. More Sandboxes: Test customizations and features without impacting live data.
8. Unlimited Users: Scale without limitations on user numbers.
