Report Title:                     Contract Amendment for the As-Needed Supplemental Vegetation Management for Contra Costa County Flood and Water Conservation District

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Civicorps, to extend the term through April 30, 2027, and to increase the payment limit by $200,000 to a new payment limit of $400,000, to continue providing maintenance support to road and flood control vegetation management work, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Local Road and Flood Control District Funds.

BACKGROUND:

On May 1, 2025, the County awarded an as-needed supplemental vegetation management contract to assist Public Works Maintenance crews with routine and emergency road and flood control vegetation work that may be time-sensitive. A $200,000 contract was awarded to Civicorps for initial one-year term.

To retain the services of, and to ensure timely payment to Civicorps, the Public Works Director recommends that the Board approve Contract Amendment No. 1. This amendment will extend the term of the contracts through April 30, 2027, and will also increase the payment limit of the contract by $200,000 to a new payment limit of $400,000.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve the contract amendment may prevent the Public Works Department from completing routine road and flood control maintenance work in a timely manner.
