BACKGROUND:
Jane Garcia served as Chief Executive Officer of La Cl?nica de La Raza since 1982, transforming it from a grassroots initiative into a nationally recognized health care organization serving over 83,000 patients annually with 1,200 dedicated employees across 35 sites in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties. Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is honoring Ms. Garcia's successful career and contributions as a leader in public health in her retirement from La Clinica de La Raza.

IN THE MATTER OF HONORING JANE GARCIA ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LA CL?NICA DE LA RAZA



WHEREAS, Jane Garcia received her BA from Yale University and her Masters from the University of California at Berkeley School of Public Health where she focused on community health centers; and

WHEREAS, UC Berkeley School of Public Health recognized Ms. Garcia as one of Berkeley Public Health's 75 Most Influential Alumni; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Garcia started as an intern has served as the Chief Executive Officer of La Cl?nica de La Raza since 1982, transforming it from a grassroots initiative into a nationally recognized health care organization serving over 83,000 patients annually with 1,200 dedicated employees across 35 sites in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties; and

WHEREAS, under Ms. Garcia's visionary leadership, La Cl?nica expanded its services into Contra Costa County, significantly improving access to culturally and linguistically appropriate health care for underserved communities, regardless...
