IN THE MATTER OF Resolution recognizing Orinda Councilmember Inga Miller

Whereas, As a third-generation resident, Inga joined the Orinda Parks Commission in early 2011. She served Orinda as a City Council member during the past eight years including as Mayor in 2019 and 2023; and

Whereas, This led her to meet so many Orindans with diverse perspectives which combine to make the place of excellence she calls home. Soon after joining the council, Inga was appointed to serve as one of two council members on the Downtown Subcommittee; and

Whereas, "Working with people with different points of view on Orinda's downtown toward choices that allow it to retain it's charm while also modernizing our aging downtown that has led to a rich planning process". Inga looks forward to continuing to facilitate this uniquely Orinda process to completion of Orinda's Downtown Precise Plan; and

Whereas, Inga has also served the past eight years as one of two council members appointed as Orinda's representatives to the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority known as Recyle Smart, including as Chairperson between March 2023-March 2024; and

Whereas, In that role, we identified the opportunity to acquire the Big Belly trash and recycling containers around Orinda with dollars Orindan's earned for the community by putting recyclables in their blue bins.
