RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a Participating Addendum with Kimball Midwest, in an amount not to exceed $500,000, for equipment, parts, hardware, tools and personal protective equipment for use by the Public Works Facilities Division during the period of May 14, 2024 through March 31, 2025.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Product costs paid by Public Works Facilities Division (100% User Departments)

 

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa County Purchasing Services is requesting approval of a Participating Addendum for equipment, parts, hardware, tools and personal protective equipment through the vendor Kimball Midwest. Products are guaranteed through the master contract # R192004 awarded by the Region 4 Education Service Center, through the Omnia Cooperative Program. Approval of the addendum between Contra Costa County and Kimball Midwest allows the County to obtain guaranteed pricing available through the Omnia Partners contract. The purchase will support Public Works Facilities with a variety of equipment and supplies and offer discounts on order 25% to 80%, for the products and equipment they currently purchase today.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without approval the Public Works Facilities Division will ultimately pay more for products and equipment.
