To:                                          Board of Supervisors

From:                                          David O. Livingston, Sheriff-Coroner

Report Title:                      Robert Half International, Inc.

Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with Robert Half International Inc., in an amount not to exceed $500,000 to provide temporary staffing services for the Technical Services unit for the period September 1, 2026, through August 30, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this request will result in up to $500,000 in contractual service expenditures over a 1-year period and will be 100% funded by the General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

The Office of the Sheriff is requesting a contract with Robert Half International, Inc. for temporary staffing needs. The temporary staff will provide necessary assistance to keep up with the workload, work on and complete projects and provide adequate coverage. This has been approved by union partners as we have experienced unsuccessful recruitments.

This contract includes minor modifications to the indemnification language.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board does not approve, the Technical Services unit will not be able to complete application projects in a timely manner, will experience delays resolving issues and, at times, will not have adequate coverage.
