RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order with LexisNexis Solutions FL Inc. in an amount not to exceed $30,000, and ACCEPT terms and conditions for the unlimited use of Accurint Virtual Crime Center, Jail Booking Search, Accurint Crime Analysis, Accurint for Law Enforcement Plus, and Accurint for Law Enforcement in the Office of the Sheriff Civil Unit, for the period December 1, 2024, through November 30, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this request will result in up to $30,000 in contractual service expenditures over a 1-year period and will be funded 100% by the General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions provides unlimited use of Accurint Virtual Crime Center, Jail Booking Search, Accurint Crime Analysis, Accurint for Law Enforcement Plus, and Accurint for Law Enforcement. These research tools are essential components for a Law Enforcement entity.

The Terms and Conditions include a limitation of liability provision and indemnification from the County to LexisNexis, Inc.

The Department is seeking approval of this retroactive contract due to unintentional oversight caused by the substantial number of new contracts the Office of the Sheriff is currently handling.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board does not approve, the Office of the Sheriff Civil Unit will be unable to access essential records online that pertain to legal, criminal and civil information.
