Report Title: APPROVE the contingency fund increase for the 2025 Walnut Creek Overlays Project, Walnut Creek area.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE the 2025 Walnut Creek Overlays Project contingency fund increase of $295,849.02 for a new contingency fund total of $548,894.97, and a new payment limit of $ 3,079,354.50, effective August 11, 2026, as recommended by the Public Works Director. (District IV)
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Project is being funded by 100% Local Road Funds.
BACKGROUND:
The contingency fund increase is necessary to compensate the contractor for unforeseen extra work required to complete the project.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The lack of approval would prevent successful completion of this contract and prevent payment for the additional work performed by the contractor.
