Report Title:                     Purchase Order and Related Software License Agreement with Lexipol, LLC.

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee to execute, on behalf of the District Attorney, a purchase order and related master service agreement with Lexipol, LLC., in an amount not to exceed $16,750 for accessing law enforcement policy updates and training resources for the period September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this action will result in expenditures up to $16,750 which has been included in the Department’s FY26-27 Budget.

BACKGROUND:

The District Attorney’s Office utilizes Lexipol, LLC., to access legally compliant operational policies, training modules, and risk management resources for Senior Inspectors. Lexipol continuously monitors updates in state and federal laws, court rulings, and law enforcement best practices to ensure department policies remain up to date. This ongoing compliance reduces operational liability and ensures that staff perform their duties safely and lawfully, thereby reducing risk to the Department and the County.

Approval of the purchase order will allow the District Attorney’s Office to access the policy updates provided by Lexipol, LLC. The Master Service Agreement includes limitation of liability which requires the Board of Supervisors’ approval.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without executing the Purchase Order and related Master Service Agreement with Lexipol, LLC., the District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations cannot utilize the service to access law enforcement policy updates and training resources.
