RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-901 with Shraddha Prakash, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $495,000, to provide rheumatology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) for the period from February 1, 2025 through January 31, 2028.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in three-year budgeted expenditures of up to $495,000 and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:
Due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers relies on contractors to provide necessary specialty health services to its patients. This is a new Contractor at CCRMC who will provide rheumatology services including, but not limited to: clinic coverage, consultation, training, medical and surgical procedures, and on-call coverage starting February 1, 2025.

This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. CCRMC's Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor Staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the Contract are upheld. This Contract was approved by Health Services Personnel to ensure there is no conflict with labor relations. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3 CCRMC Physician services are exempt from solicitation requirements.

Under new Contract #76-901 allows the Contractor to rheumatology services at CCRMC in the emergency room through January 31, 2028.
