RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Ordinance No. 2025-10 amending the County Ordinance Code to exempt from the merit system the new classification of Deputy Director of Risk Management - Exempt, update the section heading, and make non-substantive section formatting changes.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact for this action.

 

 

BACKGROUND:

The department requests to establish this new classification within Risk Management to build a more functional organizational structure and establish the necessary leadership to improve performance and efficiency in providing services.  This classification will be a single position class responsible for overseeing the various financial service programs and functions including Risk Management Department’s Internal Service Funds and will assist the Director of Risk Management with overall functions and activities of the department.  County Counsel has amended the Ordinance as required for exempting positions, pending Board approval.

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Risk Management Department will be unable to meet the needs of the Department and the County.
