For the last 5+ years, the Council on Homelessness has publicly recognized outstanding people, agencies and projects as part of Homelessness Awareness Month. The categories, descriptions and eligibility criteria are suggested by the HAM planning Committee and ultimately approved by the Council. Staff creates nomination forms and ensures eligibility of submissions, the HAM Committee reviews and recommends all eligible the nominations for formal approval by the COH. The COH formally approves the Recognitions by vote at a COH meeting and then publicly recognizes the nominees in the month of November in a variety of ways include in publicly shared materials and sometimes a certificate ceremony.

Review, suggest any applicable edits and then recommend Categories, Descriptions and Eligibility for the COH to approve at their 8/7 COH meeting. Following approval, staff will begin soliciting nominations.
