Referral History and Update:

Each Sustainability Commission Member seat is appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a 4-year term.  Every two years several Commission Member seats expire with the following seats set to expire on March 31, 2025:

Community Group Seat #1, Luz Gomez

At-Large, Commercial Seat #1, Chuck Leonard

Environmental Justice Seat #2, Sarah Foster

Education or Research Institution Seat, Kimberly Hazard

Supervisorial Appointment, District 2, Victoria Smith and Alternate Christopher Easter

Supervisorial Appointment, District 3, Mike Moore and Alternate Norman Cohen

Supervisorial Appointment, District 5, Charles Davison and Alternate Renee Fernandez-Lipp

All current Commission Member seats that are set to expire and would like to continue to serve on the Sustainability Commission are required to submit an application <https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/6408/Boards-and-Commissions-Database> on the County’s website to be considered for future appointment.

For all At-Large seats (Community Group, Commercial, Environmental Justice and Education/Research Institution seats), the County’s Sustainability Committee usually conducts interviews with a special meeting in February for upcoming seats set to expire and makes a recommendation to the County’s Board of Supervisors on appointments for those seats.
