RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26245 to do the following actions within the Contra Costa Health Plan (Budget Unit No. 0860) (Represented):
1. Increase the hours of one (1) vacant PPT Clerk-Experienced Level (JWXB) position #14613 from 24/40 to 40/40 at salary plan and grade 3RH-0750 ($4,013 - $4,979) (Org No. 6119)
2. Add (1) PFT Health Education Specialist (VMWD) at salary plan and grade TC5-1207 ($4,936 - $5,999) (Org No. 6106)
3. Cancel (1) Senior Health Education Specialist - Project (VMW5) position #18963 at salary plan and grade TC5-1543 ($6,884 - $8,367) (Org No. 6123)
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, there will be an annual cost savings of $7,257, with $1,060 in pensions included (100% HMO Enterprise Funds)
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Health Plan's (CCHP) Advice Nurse Unit has been unsuccessful in recruiting to fill the Clerk-Experienced Level position. The 24-hour per week schedule has been undesirable to candidates as they are seeking a 40-hour per week opportunity. In addition, there has been an influx of phone calls from members and in order to eliminate long wait times and provide better customer service, increasing this position to 40 hours per week will strengthen the unit's capabilities.
In addition, within the Quality Unit, there are new requirements that the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) must develop in comprehensive wellness and prevention programs.
