RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Librarian, or designee, to close the Prewett Library in Antioch on Thursday February 12th, 2026, in recognition of Lincoln’s Birthday.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The Antioch Community Center, where the Prewett Library is located, will be closed Thursday February 12th in recognition of Lincoln’s Birthday. The County Librarian is requesting approval to close the Prewett Library on this day. Permanent staff will be given the option to work elsewhere in the Library system or to use paid leave accruals during the closure.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Prewett Library will remain open on February 12th, however it will not be accessible to the public since the community center will be closed.
