RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT a resolution recognizing Monish Sen for 25 years of service to Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Public Works Director.

The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California
IN THE MATTER OF Recognizing the contributions of Monish Sen on his 25 years of service to Contra Costa County.

WHEREAS, Monish Sen graduated from Gonzaga University in May 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, establishing the foundation for a distinguished public service career; and

WHEREAS, after four years with Mark Thomas working on multiple East County efforts, including the State Route 4 East Widening, Monish joined Contra Costa County Public Works in August 2000 as an entry-level engineer in the Design Division assigned to the State Route 4 Bypass (Segment 3) Project; and

WHEREAS, Monish advanced steadily-promoted to Journey Engineer in 2001, earned his Professional Engineer license in 2004, and promoted to Associate Engineer in 2005 where he served in Engineering Services reviewing land development applications-and he received the County's Award of Excellence in 2005 for delivering the SR-4 Bypass Segment 3 Project on time and under budget; and

WHEREAS, in 2011 Monish was promoted to Senior Civil Engineer - Traffic to lead the Traffic Operations Section in the Transportation Engineering Division, where he has been recognized for professionalism in public settings, effective communication with staff, leadership in interviews and hiring, and constructive participation in community meetings and advisory boards; and
