Report Title: Accept Grant Award from the San Francisco Foundation to the El Cerrito Library
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Librarian, or designee, to accept a grant from the San Francisco Foundation in the amount of $20,000, awarded to the El Cerrito Library to increase physical and digital collections.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$20,000 Library Fund. No County match is required.
BACKGROUND:
The Library Department has received grant #G-202603-319995 in the amount of $20,000 from the San Francisco Foundation, a community foundation focused on racial equity, economic inclusion, and civic engagement in the Bay Area. The County did not apply for the grant, but it was awarded to the El Cerrito Library and will be used to augment adult and children’s collections, both physical and digital.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Library will be unable to receive the donation revenue.
