FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this request will result in cost savings of $43,335.38 with pension costs of $6,330.85 already included within the Public Health Clinical Staffing Unit budget (Org. 5797) (100% funded by Medi-Cal).

This request will also result in an annual increase of approximately $57,780.50 with pension costs of $8,441.13 already included to the Brentwood Healthcare Services Program (Org. 6390) (100% funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I).

BACKGROUND:

Per California Nurses Association (C.N.A) MOU, section 6.5- Position Hours Adjustment, incumbents have the ability to submit requests during the months of January and/or July to have their position hours adjusted. Management reviews and evaluates these requests by considering the actual work hours of the employee over the past six (6) months and the anticipated needs of the department.

After reviewing each request and considering the anticipated needs of the department, management are agreement with adjusting the hours of these positions.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If not approved, the County will not be complying with the negotiated MOU terms previously agreed upon with the unions.
