RECOMMENDATIONS:
Acting as the governing board of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute a lease with Seecon Commercial, LLC with an initial annual rent of $76,460, and annual increases thereafter, for office space located at 4005 Port Chicago Highway, Suite 110, Concord, which consists of approximately 2,435 square feet of office space, for the temporary relocation of communications center staff and future expansion of the Fire District's administrative offices. The initial term of the lease is three years and four months, with the option to renew annually.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this lease will result in additional facility operation costs, with an initial annual impact of $76,460, which will be fully funded by the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District EMS Transport Fund. The lease agreement includes annual rent increases.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa Regional Communications Center (CCRFCC) located at 2900 Dorothy Drive in Pleasant Hill will soon undergo a comprehensive remodeling project that will require the temporary relocation of staff who work at that location for the project's duration. The project will take approximately 20-24 months. The new suite, which is in the same building as the Fire District's administrative offices, will accommodate CCRFCC staff until the remodeling project is complete. Once the project is complete, CCRFCC staff will return to the remodeled CCRFCC location.
