Report Title: 3020 Second Street, Knightsen - Second Lease Amendment

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to (i) execute a Second Amendment to Lease between the County and the Contra Costa County Farm Bureau, as lessor, to extend the term of the County’s Lease of approximately 896 square feet of office space located at 3020 Second Street in Knightsen through March 31, 2027, followed by two one-year renewal options, for use by the County’s Agriculture Department at an initial rate of $19,597 for the first year, with annual increases thereafter, and (ii) exercise the renewal options.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% General Fund
BACKGROUND:
The Agriculture/Weights & Measures Department has been at this location in the agricultural core of the County since 2004.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the term of the Lease is not extended, the Agriculture/Weights & Measures Department will not be able to continue its operation at this location.
