RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Electric Power Systems International, Inc., effective October 31, 2024, to extend the term through October 31, 2025, with no change to the payment limit for on-call electrical services at various County sites and facilities, Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Facilities Maintenance Budget. (No fiscal impact)
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department, Facilities Services is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all County buildings and facilities. Government Code Section 25358 authorizes the County to contract for maintenance and upkeep of County facilities. Contractor shall provide main switchgear testing, infrared testing, certifications, and associated repairs.
The Public Works Department conducted a formal solicitation for on-call electrical services. All bids were collected via BidSync #2006-417. Electric Power Systems International, Inc. was one of two lowest, responsive, and responsible vendors awarded for this work. On October 20, 2020, the Board approved a contract with Electric Power Systems International, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000, for the period November 1, 2020 through October 31, 2023. Amendment No. 1, effective March 21, 2023, extended the term to October 31, 2024.
Facilities Services is requesting Amendment No. 2 to be approved, extending the contract term an additional year through October 31, 2025, with no change to the payment limit.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
